Midwest States and Manitoba Sign Agreements to Reduce Greenhouse Gases, Promote Energy Efficiency and Renewables

Nine Midwestern states and the Canadian province of Manitoba signed an agreement to promote energy security and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, 11 Midwestern states have adopted a platform that establishes other regional goals to promote energy efficiency, biobased products, renewable sources for electricity, and carbon capture and storage. The actions took place during the Midwestern Governors Association Energy Security and Climate Change Summit in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. More

Indiana Provides Rebates on Geothermal Heat Pumps

The Hoosier State has created a rebate program that reimburses residents up to $2,000 for installing geothermal heat pumps to replace traditional heating and cooling systems. The program is administered by the Indiana Office of Energy & Defense Development, with funds provided by the U.S. Department of Energy. More
