Virginia Enacts Sweeping Green Energy Laws
Virginia's governor has signed a series of laws designed to boost the Commonwealth's clean energy programs. Among the highlights are the creation of a body to develop offshore wind resources, and the launch of a university consortium to research clean energy using revenues generated from offshore oil and gas exploration. DOE Awards $454 Million for Clean Energy in 18 States
The states of Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia, Washington. and West Virginia have received $454 million in Recovery Act funds through DOE's State Energy Program.
